RBLD collaborated with Perkins & Will and Eva Maddox Branded Environments to create one of the first Gold certified LEED CI design showrooms in North America. Maximum credits in each lighting related sustainability category were design absolutes. The solution was a skillful integration of light sources (LED, compact fluorescent, T5 fluorescent, and HIR lamp technologies) with design techniques to establish a dynamic visual hierarchy throughout the space, dramatically displaying product lines while using light as an active participant in acknowledging the Client’s forward thinking philosophy. Integration of lighting within the Client’s floor, wall, and furniture products was critical in achieving the 0.7 watts/sf established goal.
