Arts Academy Plaza
The rehabilitation of a small park in the heart of the Grand Center district in St. Louis is set to have its groundbreaking on February 14th.
Randy Burkett Lighting Design is pleased to have collaborated with Forum Studio of St. Louis and Land Collective of Philadelphia on the design of the Arts Academy Plaza at the corner of North Grand Boulevard and Grandel Square. This prominent location serves as the intersection of Powell Hall (home of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra), the Grand Center Arts Academy, and Grandel Theatre, with the plaza designed to encourage planned and impromptu performances. Additionally, Barry Flanagan’s ‘Nijinski Hare’, on loan from the Gateway Foundation, will be relocated to the Arts Academy Plaza. RBLD has also provided lighting design for this bronze sculpture.
The plaza’s lighting design features sculptural light poles and accent illumination to help define the space and create a dramatic experience within the urban environment.
